My daughter graduates this year. And, similar to the last weeks of my grandmother’s life and battle with Alzheimers, I never imagined this kind of goodbye.
Over the last few weeks, I have fallen into sadness, sometimes madness, over this world we live in.
But, the words Barack Obama wrote told my sadness that it’s not over.
I finally felt hope tap me on the shoulder. I don’t always agree with politicians, but he wrote from the heart.
Graduates, look inside yourselves. Don’t just follow trends.
Pick your friends up off the floor.
Hold each other’s hands.
Walk on.
Change this world.
Be kind. Take care of your family.
Congratulations to her.
May God equip her for the next phase of life.
Love,
Nomison.
